Center is one of 11 Centers for Environmental Friendly Energy Research (FME).The Norwegian Research Councils FME scheme seeks to develop expertise and promote innovation through focus on long-term research in selected areas of environment-friendly energy, transport and CO2 management in close cooperation between prominent research communities and users.

Minister Aasland signed Agreements for further cooperation in research and technology, and higher education, during her visit to China in November 2008. The Norwegian delegation including representatives from the Norwegian Research Council, The Council for Higher Education Institutions and different universities also visited RCEES and SINCIERE’s office.

A joint Norwegian Research Council and Chinese Academy of Sciences Workshop to further promote research collaboration between Norway and China held in Beijing Nov 30-Dec.2. The Norwegian Research Council’s CHINOR research programme thematic scope includes climate, climate technology, environmental issues and welfare.
